Day 8, Aug 23: WELCOME TO WILLIAMSTOWN
After a restful night we woke up on Tuesday morning ready to explore more of Williamstown, this time to the Clark museum! It’s full of reproductions of various famous pieces of art, painting and sculptures from all over the wold and throughout many periods of history. It was built in the early 1980’s because people thought that Russia might start trouble and bomb the U.S.. This museum was located 3 1/2 hours from Boston and 3 1/2 hours from New York. Some of us strolled around enjoying the many art pieces, and some of us found something that caught our eyes and we stood/sat to admire it. After admiring all the beautiful paintings we headed to Williams College. Williams is allowing us to use their magnificent stage to perform our very own version of "Under the Sea: Deleted Scenes from the Little Mermaid." We enjoyed sandwiches from a local deli and got acquainted with our new rehearsal space.
On the way home, some cars continued the adventure by checking out a local thrift shop and others stopped for ice cream, which is always a good idea!
After taking time to rest and get cleaned up we headed to dinner to have one of our all time favorite meals: sloppy JoJo's! And we had a birthday in the house! Our very own Emily Stoddard turned 30 so we celebrated with more sugar - we had cake! While we ate dessert we shared a few funny stories since we had some new faces join us today.
After stuffing our faces, some of us settled down for the evening with some outdoor yoga with Jojo while others listened to music and did artwork in the art cabin, including paintings and even making stamps.
After a busy day we changed into our pajamas and settled into our cabins because tomorrow is another full day of learning songs, rehearsing lines, and even dancing as we get ready for the play. Come back tomorrow for a sneak peek of our progress!
